Broken
Chapter 1- grief
As the world around Seave city froze, time continues to go on. The Harrison's residence never look so lonely. Snow covered the roof and the drive way was clear white. Across the street stopped an police car. The blue and red light bleating quietly as if to alarm only the right kind of people. The man sitting the car was named Alexander Mathews. His eye worn out, his face strong and sad but nevertheless handsome. He sat in his car for a few minuet before he workout the courage and strengthen himself up. He manage to convince his reflection that he wasn't drowning. When that fail he coved his face for a second with both hands, took a deep breath and sought for himself in the review mirror. Not that there was an improvement but it'll have to do.
He turned his head to find an old worn out brown bag on his passenger sit. What the bag contained was nothing short of a nightmare but Alexander's life was filled with bags such as this one, that weighs heavy on his shoulder while it remains else where. Despite how frightened he was of seeing the true colors his work, he wasn't one to turn away from a fight. He grabbed it with ease and stretch his fingers in one of the large pockets that was unzipped open.
By the time his hand were out of the bag it brought with it a a black folder. He knew that the bag was less than nothing without the heavy document that have defined and continues to define his existence.
This was it. This was the part of his job he hated the most but all commitments like a marriage for better or worse. He snapped the car door handle open and got out and mumbles something to himself. Nothing could be said to make this situation better but like any pain sooner that later.
There was a positive side to what's to come. A man can finally stop hurting for the wrong reasons, Alexander thought to himself. But only him can find a bright side to a dark experiences like this. He also hope for what he knew was impossible maybe just maybe he got the wrong guy. Before he could make up which outcome is most likely he realize he had reached the door he was dreading. Bang, bang went his knock on the door and he has create a louder noise than anticipated. He took a pick at his watch.
It was 12:45am and Fred layed on his back in the pale of sheets and blanket which appeared to pass for being a bed. He smelt of alcohol and other thing he himself could not recognize. The television was on. The volume was loud enough to drive the sanest man crazy but it wouldn't ament the crazy either. Or would it? Fred for the first time in that few month appeared at peace. maybe he finally was able to rid himself of memory that haunt his dreams. Maybe he finally got rid of his fears. The young people behind the 41 inch screen were having the time of their lives. For the It must have gotten old, people should not be that happy when they are exercising. Working out they would refer to it.
When jack learnt of his daughter passing form the police man who knocked at his door at 1:00am, he did not cry. When he was told that a girl that fits the description he has reported two month ago was found in park two blocks away, he did not scream. Yes when he found out her body indicated she was tortured, raped and killed, he did not cry. When he was asked to identify the body, he was not shocked. Little did everyone knew, jack knew his child was gone a month after her disappearance. Just like he knew he would find her killer and subject him to a pain he felt not the time the body of his little girl was finally discovered but the time he accepted and gave up on her and the guilt of letting go.
